Fog Wreaks Havoc In UP, 23 People Died In Accidents In 4 Districts; CM Yogi Will Hold A High Level Meeting Soon

State Bureau, Lucknow. Road accidents are not stopping due to dense fog in Uttar Pradesh. On Tuesday, due to fog, several vehicles collided with each other in four districts including Mathura and Baghpat, in which 23 people lost their lives. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken the frequent accidents seriously.

A high-level meeting will soon be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to make road traffic safe and effectively control accidents. Police, Transport Department, Urban Development, PWD and other related departments will also be involved in this. The date of the meeting will be decided soon.

The figures of road accidents in the state are continuously increasing the concern. A total of 46,052 road accidents were recorded in the year 2024, which is more than the previous year.

Earlier in 2022, there were more than 41 thousand accidents in the state. Many people have lost their lives this month due to dense fog. According to the Transport Department, the main reasons behind road accidents are speeding, driving on the wrong side, not using helmet and seat belt. In the foggy season, carelessness and ignoring the rules are proving fatal, on which the government is now preparing to take strict action.
