Jagran correspondent, Farrukhabad. Three years ago, out of pride, four brothers together murdered their sister and her lover with a gun. In this case, on Wednesday, the Additional District and Sessions Judge has declared all four accused guilty.
The date of hearing on the point of punishment has been fixed for December 19. As soon as the information about the verdict was received, the relatives of the accused were shocked.
On November 6, 2022, Mahavir, resident of village Rajepur Saraimeda of Kamalganj area, had filed a case against his own brothers Ratan, Lalu, Nitin alias Taniya, Neetu and Kuldeep of the same village. In which it was said that the accused Ratan came to his house and called his son Ramkaran.
Ramkaran had a love affair with Ratan's sister. When Ramkaran did not come home for a long time, he searched and reached the house of the accused. The door of the house was closed. He informed the police about the incident. On the second day, the bodies of the accused's sister Shivani and Ramkaran were found in Khanta drain near the village.
The then Inspector Amarpal Singh, who was investigating the case, filed a charge sheet in the court against Ratan, Lalu, Nitin and Neetu. Another accused Kuldeep was dropped during investigation.
During the hearing in this case, after hearing the arguments of ADGC Akhilesh Kumar, KK Pandey and the defense, Additional District and Sessions Judge Satyendra Singh Verma has convicted all four accused of murder and destruction of evidence. The hearing on the point of punishment has been fixed for December 19.
Sister and her boyfriend were attacked with sharp weapons on their necks
The accused had attacked Ramkaran and Shivani several times with sharp weapons on their necks. After this, the bodies of both were taken away in some vehicle and thrown near the drain. About 13 witnesses were presented by the prosecution. Some people had seen the dead bodies being taken away. Their testimony has been considered the basic basis.
The accused had reached the police station with Neetu Gadasa.
Neetu had carried out the incident along with his brothers. Neetu already used to show dominance in the village. He had beaten the village people many times. On learning about his sister's love affair, he lost his temper and murdered both of them with a mortar. He had reached the police station with a blood stained cloth. His clothes were also stained with blood. Seeing the condition of Neetu, there was a stir among the police personnel.
Three brothers have not been granted bail since the incident.
Neetu, Nitin alias Tania and Ratan are still in jail after the incident. Tried to get bail, but considering the seriousness of the incident, bail was not granted. Accused Lalu was granted bail. On Wednesday, the judge also sent Lalu to jail in judicial custody.
