Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee said after the Business Advisory Committee meeting on Friday that the House proceedings will begin at 11 am on Saturday and four major amendments and appropriation bills will be introduced on the table of the House. He also said that another bill can also be introduced which has been sent to the Governor for his permission.
He said that 'The West Bengal Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill, 2026' and 'The West Bengal Appropriation (No. 1) Bill, 2026' will be introduced on Saturday. A time of one hour each has been set aside for discussion and passing of both these important financial bills.
Two other bills also likely to be approved
Apart from this, two other bills related to civic amenities and education sector are also likely to be approved. These include the Howrah Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Murshidabad University (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The Secretariat has specifically made it clear that due to tomorrow being a Saturday, some changes have been made in the normal procedure of the House. There will be no question hour for oral answers in tomorrow's meeting.
