25-year-old Roshni Devi, originally a resident of Akbarpur Jhavaiya of Reuna police station area, was married to Sanjay Kumar of the neighboring village on 18 December 2014. After marriage, Roshni was living with her family in Gujaini F Block. Her husband Sanjay worked in a private factory in Gadarian Purva. It was Sanjay's second marriage with Roshni. His first wife had committed suicide. Sanjay also has a 12 year old daughter.
Shortly after the marriage, quarrels started between the husband and wife over small matters, on which the family members made compromises several times. Even after this, after a fight on November 21, Sanjay tried to kill Roshni by burning her. After Roshni complained about this to the police, a case was registered against Sanjay and his mother Indira Devi in Govind Nagar police station, after which Sanjay started living separately from mother and daughter.
On 26th December, Sanjay again reached Gujaini and apologized to Roshni and started living together. Next day on 27th December, after a dispute, Sanjay killed her and absconded. When brother Rahul reached home after the mobile was switched off, he came to know about the incident. Govindnagar police station in-charge Rikesh Kumar Singh said that the murdered husband Sanjay was arrested and presented in the court, from where he has been sent to jail in judicial custody.
