Jagran correspondent, Varanasi. In Chandravati Bazaar of Chaubepur area, the ladder molded in the house itself fell down while removing the centering. In this accident, the auto driver died after getting buried under the debris of the ladder. Due to which a wave of mourning ran in the entire town.
Arun Gupta alias Kariya (35 years), son of Shambhu Gupta, resident of Chandravati Bazar, used to drive the auto. Arun Gupta had recently got a ladder cast in his house to go to the terrace. The work of removing centering was going on in which Arun was also helping. Meanwhile, the centering suddenly became weak and slipped and the heavy part of the ladder fell on Arun with a heavy blow.
There was chaos at the spot after the accident. People nearby came running and with great difficulty pulled out Arun who was buried under the debris. He was taken to the nearest hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
Arun used to support his family by driving an auto and was the sole support of the family. He is survived by his wife Soni Devi (Area Panchayat Member, Chandravati), two daughters and two sons. After the incident, the entire family including wife, daughter Kinjal and son Aniket are in bad condition.
Family members and local people remained busy consoling the family. It is being told that the family members cremated the body at Chandravati Ganga Ghat without informing the police.
