Jagran correspondent, outer Delhi. Two brothers tied a young man's hands and feet and brutally murdered him with a sickle (a tree cutting tool) because he refused to stay away from his cousin sister. After this, they put the body in a tempo and threw it in the Munak canal and fled away. Samaypur Badli police station has solved the case and arrested both the accused brothers.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ashish and Vishal Dhilod. The deceased has been identified as Ankit. Police investigation revealed that Ashish and Vishal are cousins. Both work as delivery boys in different companies. Ashish had repeatedly asked Ankit to stay away from his sister. When Ankit did not agree even after repeated warnings, the accused planned and executed the murder.
Police have recovered the sickle used in the crime, a Tata Ace mini tempo, a scooter and other items from the accused. Police have handed over Ankit's body to his family after post-mortem.
Hareshwar Swami, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer-North District, said that the body of a youth was recovered from Munak Canal near Haiderpur Treatment Plant on Monday. The young man's hands and legs were tied. There were also marks of attack with a sharp weapon on his head. Initially the deceased could not be identified.
Later, Samaypur Badli police station registered a case of murder and started investigation. Inspector Mintu Singh's team first tried to identify the deceased. Through Zipnet, the deceased was identified as Ankit, resident of Sadar Bazar. Ankit used to work as a welder with his maternal uncle. On December 18, her family lodged a missing report at Gulabi Bagh police station.
With the help of technical surveillance and CDR, the police first arrested Ashish. CDR revealed that the deceased had last talked to the accused. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder. The accused told that he along with Vishal had murdered his friend Ankit on December 18. Called on some pretext, then murdered and threw the body in the canal.
During interrogation, Ashish told that deceased Ankit was his friend. Ankit was coming closer to his cousin sister. He had repeatedly asked his friend Ankit to stay away from his sister, but he did not listen. After this the accused made a plan and murdered her.
To commit the crime, they called Ankit to Tikri Kalan metro station. From there they took him on a scooter to Gadda Colony. After beating Ankit there, they tied his hands and legs and killed him by hitting him on the head with a tree-chopping axe. Later, they put the body in a mini-truck and took it to Bawana. They ran away after throwing the dead body in the Munak canal.
