From Meerut South To Siwalkhas... SIR Notices Will Be Issued From January 6, 269 Officers Deployed

Under the special intensive revision program of the voter list of the Legislative Assembly, notices will be issued to 2.84 lakh voters who did not provide the details of the voter list for the year 2003 in the enumeration forms and documents will be sought from them. To hear these notices, the Election Commission of India has declared 269 officers as Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO) for seven assembly constituencies of Meerut district. Each of these AEROs will hear 100 notices daily. That means 26,900 notices will be heard in the district every day. At present there are a total of 26,99,820 voters in all the seven assembly constituencies of the district. During the SIR campaign, calculation forms were provided to all of them. Of these, only 20.19 lakh voters filled in the counting forms and received them back. Out of these, only the counting forms of 17,45,723 voters could be verified from the voter list of the year 2003.

There are 2,84,736 voters who have not provided details of the voter list for the year 2003 in their enumeration forms. The Election Commission has included the names of all these people in the draft voter list but will send a notice to them and demand other documents in place of the details of the voter list of the year 2003. In response to these notices, voters will have to provide documents as proof of their and their mother's place of birth and date of birth. AERO will hear the Election Commission of India has deployed a total of 269 Assistant Voter Registration Officers in seven assembly constituencies of the district to hear these notices. The Commission has also released the assembly wise list of all these names. As per the scheduled schedule, the draft voter list of the assembly constituencies will be released on January 6.

Notices will be issued to these 2.84 lakh voters on this date. Hearing will be held on receipt of replies to these notices. Each officer has to hear 100 notices daily. That means 26,900 notices will be disposed of in the district every day. The district administration is searching for a place for this hearing in every assembly constituency. Officials say that the hearing will be held at such places where it is easy for voters to reach. New voters should apply in online form 06. Youth who have completed 18 years of age by January 1, 2026 can apply to get their name included in the list as a new voter. This application can be made online. After the release of the draft voter list on January 6, this form will have to be filled and made available to the BLO. According to the new system, along with Form 06, you will also have to provide declaration form and details of name of your parents or grandparents registered in the voter list of 2003.
