Gen-Z and Millennials will be at the forefront in the year 2025
Digital Desk, New Delhi. Indians are now second to none in terms of spending holidays abroad and the flag of this new trend is in the hands of Gen-G (youth born during 2000-2012) and Millennials (people born between 1981-96).
The new report claims that nine out of every 10 people going abroad in the year 2025 were from this age group. The report's findings are based on travel data of over 10 lakh Indian travelers traveling abroad.

The annual travel report released by travel-baking fintech platform 'Neo' shows that digital technology-savvy young Indians with a desire for new experiences are making smart plans and traveling alone across the world at affordable prices.
They are spending the most on shopping abroad and their trips are short, but full of exciting experiences. According to the report, in terms of international travel in the year 2025, nine out of every 10 travelers will be Gen-G and Millennials.
Highest number of tourists from Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai
Nearly two-thirds of the trips originated from Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai, showing that India's major metros play an important role in foreign travel. In the case of traveling abroad, the number of solo travelers remained the highest. About 63.8 percent people traveled alone, while 19.93 percent couples spent holidays abroad as husband and wife.
While 12.26 percent of the families traveled abroad, the lowest among the group was 4.01 percent. This shows that the trend of solo travel is increasing rapidly. The youth made smart plans to experience traveling abroad.
Among these, trips of short duration were seen the most. In terms of travel, Thailand was liked the most, while UAE and Georgia also became the special choice of people due to their being cheap. The least number of people visited Britain and Singapore.

The report further said that the emerging countries in terms of increase in the number of flights were Thailand, UAE, Malaysia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. At the same time, a sharp increase in visa booking was recorded for Dubai, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
According to the report, there is a change in the spending patterns of travelers while traveling abroad. People spent almost half (47.28%) of the total expenditure on shopping abroad. This was then spent on food, travel, accommodation and experiencing exciting activities.
