Jagran correspondent, Khoda. To end the drinking water problem, a proposal to get the work done with Rs 18 crore has been approved in the board meeting of Khoda Municipality. In the areas where there is maximum water shortage, the municipality will start the work within a month. Apart from this, 10 other proposals have also been passed in the board meeting. During this period, Dainik Jagran had raised the problems of the people and thrown light on various issues. After this, Cabinet Minister and Sahibabad MLA Sunil Sharma, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar, Mandar Municipality President Mohini Sharma and Municipal Executive Officer Shailendra Kumar had assured to solve the drinking water problem. Municipality President Mohini Sharma had assured to start the work regarding the drinking water problem in January. Just 13 days later, the municipality passed an important resolution to end the drinking water problem.
The work will be started after passing Rs 18 crore from the 15th Finance. Under the scheme, underground reservoirs will be created and drinking water will be supplied to homes through pipelines. Among other proposals, except approval of building construction bye-laws, 10 proposals were approved. The councilors also created ruckus on the water issue.
Councilor party leader Satish Gupta proposed to make a concrete strategy, which was supported by other councilors. Municipal Council's acting executive officer Shailendra Singh said that drinking water pipeline, action against illegal dairy operators, marking of municipal property, construction of Ambedkar Park, collection of house tax and other proposals have been passed in the ward.
Commotion started on water
During the board meeting, JE Navneet Gupta said that he proposed to draw water through borewells from the wards where there is water and to give it to the wards with shortage. On this the councilors started creating ruckus and said that in this way there will be water shortage in all the wards.
Last year also in July, a proposal to prepare DPR for water was passed but the copy of the DPR was not given to the councilors. Leader of the councilor group, Satish Gupta said that a copy of the proposal regarding water should be given to the councilors.
