Ghaziabad's Vasundhara was the most polluted among 447 areas in the country.
Jagran correspondent, Sahibabad. Ghaziabad's Vasundhara was the most polluted among 447 areas in the country. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI here was recorded at 454. Whereas the average AQI of Ghaziabad was recorded at 404, which is the highest in the country after Noida. Noida's AQI was recorded at 409.
The regional office of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board is situated in Vasundhara Sector-16. Apart from Ghaziabad, only the officers sitting here take the responsibility of keeping the air of Hapur clean, but the situation on Saturday became such that the air of Vasundhara remained the most polluted in the country.
Now people are taunting that when only the people of Vasundhara are not getting relief then what should the people of other areas expect from them. Due to this, questions are being raised on the working style of the Pollution Board officials. People say that if action had been taken after making a concrete plan then such problems would not have to be faced. Have to live in poisonous air every day. Due to the haze present in the atmosphere, the problem of sore throat and watery eyes is becoming the biggest problem.
After 12 days, the air of the district again reached severe category.
The last time the air in the district was in severe category was on December 15. During that time AQI 444 was recorded. After this, there was some relief as the air was very bad and in bad category. Now again after 12 days, people have started worrying as the air has reached severe category. There is no possibility of people getting clean air. People say that the officials are not able to enforce the restrictions of grapes. Getting clean air is a distant thing.
The air in other areas can reach severe category at any time.
Pollution measuring instruments have been installed at four places in the district. Out of which, except Vasundhara, the air in other areas is in very poor category. The AQI of these areas can also go into the very poor category at any time. Loni's AQI is 398, which is just two points short of reaching the severe category.

Work is being done at all levels to prevent pollution. Four teams are deployed to enforce grape restrictions. The level of pollution has increased due to humidity in the weather and wind speed decreasing again. - Ankit Singh, Regional Officer, UPPCB.
