Jagran correspondent, Agra. With the initiative of the Postal Department, rural artisans and small traders will also get an opportunity to connect with the international market at low cost. Under the Postal Duty Reimbursement (Subsidy) Scheme, exporters will be given a subsidy of at least 75 percent and a maximum of Rs 1 lakh in a financial year.

For this the unit will have to be registered with the postal department. The amount will be sent to the exporter's account on quarterly basis through Direct Benefit Transaction (DBT). The benefit of the scheme will be available only to the exporting unit which should have Import Export Code and registration of Uttar Pradesh state. To avail the benefits of the Export Unit Scheme, one will have to first go to the post office and register.

If the parcel will be sent to any city and state, then the full fee will have to be deposited first. After three months of sending the parcel, it will be seen how much fee has been paid by the exporter for the parcel sent. On this basis, 75 percent subsidy will be given.

If an exporter pays so much duty in one go that his subsidy reaches one lakh, then subsidy will be given only up to one lakh. Subsidy cannot be given more than this in the financial year. Post office officials say that this scheme has been brought to connect more and more exporters with the post office. Also, this step has been taken in the direction of setting up small industries.

This scheme is encouraging for small entrepreneurs. A rebate of up to Rs 1 lakh in the form of subsidy will help connect the customers with the postal department. For this, registration of the unit in the postal department is necessary.
