The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) implemented in Uttarakhand in its one year tenure has not only achieved significant achievements in the direction of social reforms but has also given a new identity to the state in the field of good governance and technological innovation. UCC, which was implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, was given special emphasis from the beginning on making it common man friendly, simple and transparent. That is why UCC's services are available in all the 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution apart from English. Also, with the help of AI, the applicant can easily understand the process and also get registered. Even before the implementation of UCC, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had instructed the officials that the registration process should be very simple and the website should be user friendly, so that the common citizen can register himself without any help. In this sequence, the UCC portal was developed by the Information Technology Development Agency, in which AI based assistance has also been added. With the help of AI, the applicant can easily understand the entire process, get the doubts related to the documents resolved and register.
It has been made multilingual for the common people. Under this, its services are also available in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Sindhi, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Santhali and Manipuri. Through this multilingual system, the applicant can get complete information about the rules, procedures and necessary documents related to UCC in his mother tongue and can also apply in the same language.
‘The government has been working on the basic mantra of solution through simplification since day one. In the implementation of UCC, special care was taken to ensure that no citizen faces difficulty in registration.
