Death of a girl in Gautam Vihar area of East Delhi.
Jagran correspondent, East Delhi. A 24-year-old girl, Iqra, died under suspicious circumstances on Saturday morning in Gautam Vihar area of New Osmanpur police station area of North-East Delhi. The police have started investigating the case by sending the body for post-mortem.
On Saturday morning, police received information that a girl resident of Gautam Vihar was lying unconscious in her room. Police reached the spot and immediately sent Iqra to Jag Pravesh Chand Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. After this, the police sealed the room and called the forensic team for investigation.
The team has thoroughly investigated the incident site and collected necessary evidence. According to the police, in the initial investigation it seems to be a case of suicide. Information has been received from people living nearby that she lived in a live-in relationship with a young man. However, that young man is lodged in Ghaziabad jail for a year.
Since then Iqra was living alone. Call details of Iqra's mobile are being retrieved which will reveal to whom she had talked before she died. The cause of death will become clear after the post mortem report comes.
