Jagran correspondent, Gayaji. The problems of the police department are increasing continuously in the case of robbery of one kg gold in Howrah-Jodhpur Express. In this much-discussed scandal, Patna Police Headquarters has now taken major administrative action and suspended the investigation officer (IO) of the case, Virendra Prasad. He is accused of cover-up in the investigation of the case.

On November 21, an incident of robbery of one kilogram of gold during a train journey came to light, due to which there was a stir in the railway station area. When the role of policemen was found suspicious in the preliminary investigation, four constables including Railway Station Head Rajesh Kumar Singh were suspended.

Further review of the case revealed allegations of ignoring important evidence and weakening the investigation, following which the role of IO Virendra Prasad was investigated and he was also suspended. Patna Railway DSP Bhaskar Ranjan said that the matter is being taken seriously and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
