Jagran correspondent, Jammu. Indian Railways has achieved a major success in running Vande Bharat Express directly between Jammu and Srinagar. The trial run of special 20 coach Vande Bharat train between Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra was successfully completed on Tuesday.
This train left Jammu Railway Station at 11 am and reached Katra Railway Station safely at 12:45 pm. According to railway officials, the objective of the trial was to test technical and operational preparedness, which was completely successful.
It has become clear from this test that Jammu to Katra section Vande Bharat is ready for operation. At the same time, after the success of this trial, the Railway Board has also announced to expand Vande Bharat and run it from Jammu from March 1.
Train will run regularly from Jammu to Srinagar
The railway official said that during the trial, all aspects related to train speed, braking system, traction control and station operation were examined. He said that after successful trials, this special Vande Bharat will be run regularly from Jammu to Srinagar after getting the final approval from the Railway Board.
He also informed that all preparations for platform, maintenance and technical facilities for operation of Vande Bharat at Jammu Railway Station have been completed. With the commencement of this train, Jammu city will be directly connected to Kashmir Valley by modern semi-high-speed rail service, which will give a big boost to tourism, trade and passenger amenities.
Specially designed keeping in mind the difficult weather of Jammu and Kashmir, this Vande Bharat train is equipped with snow cutter, heating system, anti-skid braking technology and modern passenger amenities, which will enable safe operation even in snowfall and cold weather.
