Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. The pressure of trains on Kiul-Bhagalpur railway section has suddenly increased due to the accident of goods train near Telwa Bazar Halt on Patna-Howrah railway section. After the accident, in view of the safety and repair work, the railway administration changed the route of the trains. 21 trains of the main line were run via Bhagalpur, Hansdiha and Banka. Due to this, there has been more movement of trains than normal on this railway section on Sunday.

The direct effect of changing the route was seen at nearby stations including Bhagalpur Junction. Due to additional trains, crowding on the platforms increased. Many trains arrived late than scheduled, causing a lot of trouble to the passengers. Especially the passengers traveling in long distance trains were seen in a state of confusion.

Due to this, Godda-Ranchi Express in Up and Down remained canceled from Bhagalpur. Due to this, passengers faced problems. Passengers alighting at Bhagalpur from this train had to come from Godda by another train or by road. At the same time, due to cancellation from Bhagalpur, more than 150 people had to cancel their tickets. This train ran via Deoghar.

Some passengers said that they came to know about the sudden change of route after reaching the station, which affected their further travel plans. According to the Railways, some coaches of the goods train had derailed in the accident near Belwa Bazar Halt. Due to this, the main line was disrupted and trains had to be sent through an alternative route to keep operations safe.

Repair and track restoration work is being carried out at a rapid pace. But it is expected to take time. Bhagalpur railway section is already under pressure of regular trains. In such a situation, the operation of additional trains has also affected the signal and operational system. Railway employees have to perform duty with extra caution.

At the same time, partial changes were also seen in the timings of some local trains, which caused inconvenience to the daily commuters. The Railway Administration has appealed to the passengers to check the status of their train before travelling.

If the track restoration work is not completed on time, some trains may pass through the changed route on Monday also. In such a situation, there is a possibility that there will be pressure of trains on Kiul-Bhagalpur railway section for the next one or two days.

Here, Down Vikramshila Express arrived 13 hours late than scheduled, Janseva Express arrived Bhagalpur four hours late. Same was the condition of operation of Brahmaputra and Farakka Express. According to railway officials, the reason for the delay in operation of the said trains is dense fog and not the impact of the goods train accident.
