The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of cold day with extremely dense fog. Due to the presence of clouds, there is a possibility that the sun will not be visible throughout the day. Melting will further increase due to westerly wind, which will affect life.
The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 16.9 degrees Celsius, which was 5.3 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 11.9 degrees Celsius, which was 2.4 degrees more than the average. As the temperature dropped, the humidity level also remained high. The maximum humidity was recorded at 91 percent and minimum at 78 percent, due to which the effect of cold was felt more acutely.
Meteorologist TB Singh said that for some time during the day on Wednesday, the sun was seen peeking from behind the clouds. People were hopeful that they would be able to get the warmth of the sun for some time, but this relief proved to be momentary. After some time it became cloudy again and the effect of cold increased further. The melting continued as the day progressed.

The situation became more difficult after four in the evening. Difficulty in walking was faced due to dense fog and increasing melting. According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather will continue on Thursday also. Melting will continue due to dense fog, cold westerly wind and presence of clouds.
Doctors have advised the elderly, children and sick people to take special precautions. An appeal has been made to wear warm clothes and avoid leaving the house unnecessarily in the morning and evening.
