Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. To take revenge over a dispute with their landlady, the couple strangled their 13-year-old daughter to death. The dead body was hanged in the room. The parents also accepted that the daughter committed suicide due to quarrels and fights, but the post mortem report exposed the truth. The case turned out to be not suicide but murder.
Additional District Judge Shivkumar III, Special Judge POCSO Court sentenced the guilty husband and wife to life imprisonment. Satyapal, resident of Hardayal Kucha mohalla of Puwayan, told that he had gone to his village Ikghara Gautiya on 18 November 2013. His wife Rajni had a dispute with tenant Dinesh Mishra, resident of Anava village, over some issue.
The wife went to the police station to complain about this. 13 year old daughter Vibhuti was alone at home. Satyapal told that when he reached home, his daughter's body was found hanging from the fan in the room. They felt that the daughter had taken this step after being fed up with the beatings she had faced against her mother. A complaint was filed against Dinesh and his wife Rachna, in which both of them were held responsible for their daughter's suicide.
The police also registered an FIR, but when the post-mortem report came, it was revealed that Vibhuti had died due to strangulation. On which the FIR was upgraded to murder section and the couple was arrested and sent to jail. After investigation in this case, the charge sheet was filed in the court.
Wherever all the arguments were given by the defense side, but on the basis of arguments of government advocate Shiv Kumar Singh, evidence and post mortem report, the Additional District Judge held Dinesh Mishra and his wife Rachna Mishra guilty of murder of Vibhuti and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh each. A fine of Rs 1 lakh each has also been imposed on both of them.
