On the instructions of the government, in order to increase the income of Gram Panchayats, the process of linking the Self Source Revenue (OSR) accounts with QR code has started, so that the common people can easily pay the statutory fees of various government schemes like birth-death, ration card, caste, income, residence etc. certificates in digital form.
While this will increase transparency, all transaction records will also be available. There are 119 gram panchayats in Unchahar, Jagatpur and Rohaniya blocks. Now the OSR accounts of these Gram Panchayats will be activated, so that the village people do not have to wander here and there and the Gram Panchayats can manage their sources of income digitally.
This will increase transparency and strengthen the self-reliance of Gram Panchayats. For this, tax, non-tax collection and digital payment through QR code will be promoted through Samarth portal.
With the help of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), the process of training the village secretaries of these blocks and using new technology has also started. Through this new technology, Panchayat assistants will have to deposit money in the OSR account of the Gram Panchayat, so that the Panchayats can become financially self-reliant and this money can be used in the development works of the Gram Panchayat.
With the new initiative, Gram Panchayat Secretariat will be modernized and 243 government services like birth-death certificate, income, caste, residence certificate, ration card will be online on the e-District portal. If payment is made through QR code, Panchayat Assistant will be able to charge fee only as per the certificate.
Block Development Officer Sunil Kumar Singh says that instructions have been received to activate the accounts of Gram Panchayats, all the Village Secretaries have been asked to activate the accounts of Gram Panchayats whose accounts are not operated.
