Guldar's Terror In Lohaghat, Entered The Cowshed And Killed Six Goats; One Injured

Jagran correspondent, Champawat (Lohaghat). Guldar has once again spread terror in Raighadi village of Barakot block. Late Friday night, Guldar broke the door of a villager's cow shed and entered inside and killed six goats, while in the morning one goat was found in a critical condition. There has been an atmosphere of panic in the area since the incident.

Bahadur Singh Rawat, resident of village Raighadi, has kept goats. It is being told that he broke the door of the cowshed, entered inside and killed six goats. Villagers Prakash Rai and Dinesh told that Guldar left the dead bodies of three goats in the cow shed and dragged the three goats towards the forest. There is an atmosphere of fear in the village due to the whole incident and panic is prevalent among the villagers.

Here, after the incident, on Saturday, Nanda Ballabh Bhatt, Prakash Giri, Ramesh Trivedi, Amit Kumar of the Forest Department inspected the spot. The villagers have demanded that this terror of Guldar should be ended soon and appropriate compensation should be provided to the victim's family.

Former District Panchayat President Jyoti Rai has demanded from the district administration to provide immediate compensation to the affected families. Human-wildlife conflict is increasing in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand, especially in areas like Barakot, Guldar attacks have become common. The villagers demand that the Forest Department find a permanent solution so that such incidents do not happen again.

Kali Kumaon Ranger Rajesh Joshi said that necessary action will be taken after investigation. He has appealed to the people to be cautious, not to go out at night and keep the animals in a safe place.
