Officials issuing invitation letter for Nagar Kirtan in Gurudwara Maithan.
Jagran correspondent, Agra. Before the Prakash Parv of the 10th Guru Sarvanshdani Gobind Singh Sahib of Sikhism, a grand city kirtan will be taken out on 14th December, which will start from Gurdwara Maithan and will go to Gurudwara Guru Ka.
The tableaux and groups involved in this will spread the story of Guru Sahib's bravery, valor and sacrifice to everyone. The display of Sikh martial arts will be a special attraction.
This information was given by the organizing committee officials while issuing the invitation letter for the event at Gurudwara Maithan on Friday.
Kanwaldeep Singh, head of Shri Guru Singh Sabha Maithan, said that the city kirtan will start from Gurudwara Maithan on December 14 at 10 am. The procession will begin with Guru Granth Sahib seated in a grand palanquin decorated with flowers.
The youth will walk in the front with two-wheelers, behind which will be a group of a dozen horses, on which the lions will be riding, holding the Nishan Sahib in their hands.
Granthi Ajaib Singh Titu and Mahant Harpal Singh of Gurudwara Guru Ka Tal told that the warriors of Ranjit Akhara of Gurudwara Guru Ka Tal will display many amazing forms of martial arts by performing Sikh martial art Gatka with traditional weapons throughout the route.
Daljit Singh Setia told that Panj Pyare and Nishanchi Sahiban will walk in front of the palanquin. The Sangat will walk barefoot and perform broom service, sprinkle water and shower flowers on the entire route.
Head Granthi Giani Kulwinder Singh said that the city kirtan will start from Gurdwara Maithan and will reach the service lane of bypass road via Ghatia Square, Hariparvat Square, Speed Color Lab, RBS Square, Master Plan Road, Khandari, Transport Nagar, Lohewala flyover and will conclude at Gurdwara Guru Ka Tal.
Will be included in the relevant dress code
Media in-charge Jasbir Singh Jassi said that this year special dress code will be applicable in Nagar Kirtan. Men will wear blue or saffron turban with corresponding white kurta-pajama or pant-shirt. Women will attend wearing blue or saffron chunni with white suit.
Everyone is requested to come in dress code. Veer Mahendra Pal Singh and coordinator Bunty Grover, who were involved in the operation and discipline system, demanded the administration to keep the security, traffic and other arrangements strong.
Tableaux and cultural presentations will be attractions
Many special tableaux will be included in the city kirtan. Three major tableaux will depict the sacrifice of the ninth Guru Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib and his three Sikh brothers Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das and Bhai Dayala. Children will give songs, shabads and cultural presentations related to Sikh culture.
Bagpiper band of Punjab and local bands will add to the attraction. Inderjit Singh Gujral, Jagdeep Singh Sahni, Harjot Singh Sahni, Shyam Bhojwani, Lucky Setia, Pali Sethi, Praveen Arora, Virendra Singh Veere, Harshpal Singh Sethi, Bablu Arshi, Rana Ranjit Singh were present.
