Jagran correspondent, Purnia. There is great enthusiasm among the people of Seemanchal with the news of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Jalalgarh-Kishanganj (51.632 km) new railway line project being sent to the Railway Board.
On this achievement, Purnia's famous surgeon, BJP leader cum provincial vice president of Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti, Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta (Dr. AK Gupta) has expressed happiness and congratulated the people of the area and expressed gratitude to the Central Government.
17 years of exile will end
Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta said that this project, pending since 2008-09, has been the biggest demand of Seemanchal. He said, after waiting for 17 years, now this dream seems to be turning into reality. There is a hope of laying a new railway track in Purnia after almost 100 years, which will add a new chapter in the glorious history of the district.
New path to security and prosperity
Emphasizing the strategic importance of this rail route, Dr. Gupta said that this project will provide an impenetrable security shield and alternative route to the Chicken Neck area. This will not only facilitate strategic transportation but will also bring economic prosperity to flood affected areas like Jalalgarh, Amour and Baisa. Local traders and farmers will directly benefit from the construction of 8 new stations.
Expressing his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Dr. AK Gupta said that the Central Government is committed to strengthening the infrastructure of Bihar, especially Seemanchal. He expressed hope that adequate funds will be released for the project in this budget and the construction work will start soon.
