Communication partner, Motihari. In the much talked about case of murder of husband and wife by stabbing Mehsi Mithanpura, the court of 21st Additional District and Sessions Judge Ramesh Ranjan has convicted the named accused and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
In case of non-payment of fine, the convict will have to face additional punishment of one year. The court also directed that the fine amount, once recovered, would be provided to the heirs of the deceased.
Late, resident of Mithanpura ward number 05 of Mehsi police station area, was punished. Siki Sah's son Pawan Sah was born. This case is related to Mehsi police station case number 108/2024, which was registered by local resident Meena Devi, husband Manoj Sah.
According to the FIR, on the afternoon of July 14, 2024, Meena Devi's father-in-law was sleeping on a cot in Banswari near Bathu Sah village. Meanwhile, due to the fact that her clothes had been removed, the accused caught hold of her at around five in the evening and attacked her with a knife, injuring her seriously.
The accused also attacked his wife Manati Devi, who came to save him, with a knife, due to which both of them died on the spot. After the incident, the accused threw the knife and started running away, but the villagers chased him and caught him and handed him over to the police.
After investigating the case, the police submitted the charge sheet against Pawan Sah in the court, while the investigation continued against the other named accused.
As per the order of Patna High Court, during the hearing of session case number 368/2025, Additional Public Prosecutor Mohd. Moinul Haq and assistant advocate Pawan Kumar presented eight witnesses on behalf of the prosecution.
After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court found the accused guilty under section 103 of the Indian Judicial Code and sentenced him to life imprisonment and fine. Also, the period spent in jail was ordered to be adjusted in the sentence.
