Haryana Government's Aircraft And Helicopters Will Be Updated, Flight Safety Will Improve; CM Nayab Gave Instructions Amid Accidents

State Bureau, Chandigarh. After the frequent plane accidents in the country, the state government has started the process of upgrading its planes and helicopters. The Civil Aviation Department has invited applications from interested companies to prepare new and updated technical manuals for operation and maintenance of their aircraft and helicopters.

Companies proficient in providing their services to air operators in the country have been considered authorized to apply. The government has invited applications from companies till February 9. Apart from different parts of the country, plane accidents have been happening in Haryana.

On March 31, 2005, the then Haryana ministers OP Jindal and Surendra Singh died in a helicopter crash near Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Former Chief Minister Manohar Lal's helicopter has also made emergency landings several times. Due to breakdown of its helicopter, Haryana has used Punjab's helicopter several times.

Haryana government now wants to install modern navigation systems like performance based for its planes. This will enable aircraft to land safely even in bad weather or low visibility. The government has now decided to completely update its operation manual, flight safety manual and security manual as per the latest safety standards.
