India's 24-member Hockey Team Announced For Pro League

PTI, New Delhi. Hockey India has announced the 24-member Indian men's hockey team for the first phase of the FIH Pro League to be held from February 10 to 15 at the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium, Rourkela. Hockey India had released the list of 33 probable players last month, which has now been reduced to 24. Apart from India, teams from Belgium and Argentina will participate in this phase.

India head coach Craig Fulton said that the team has a good mix of young and experienced players. We have youngsters like Roshan Kujur and Manmeet Singh, while senior players are also in the team. This balance is very important. Argentina and Belgium are excellent teams and we will try to give our best performance.

India was in eighth place

The Indian team, which finished eighth among nine teams in the last season, will play its first match against Belgium on February 11, while it will face Argentina on February 13. After this, there will be a match against Belgium on 14th February and Argentina on 15th February.

The Indian team includes goalkeeper Suraj Karkera, Pawan, defenders Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Sumit, Sanjay, Neelam Sanjeep Sess, Amandeep Lakra, midfielders Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Hardik Singh, M Rabichandra Singh, Neelakanta Sharma, Roshan Kujur and forwards Abhishek, Sukhjit Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Selvam Karthi etc. have got place.
