Jagran correspondent, Jhajjar. Today, 580 employees of the National Health Mission, who run the health services of the district at the grassroots level, are facing a serious livelihood crisis. Due to non-payment of salaries for the last two months, it has become difficult for these employees to even meet basic expenses like running a household and children's education. The irony is that those who are said to be the backbone of the department are themselves going through mental and financial stress.

NHM state general secretary and district head Arun Verma said that the salaries of the employees come with the joint cooperation of the central and state governments. This process has completely derailed in the last one year. Sometimes the salary is received late by one month, and sometimes one has to wait for two months. Due to this irregularity, many employees are forced to fall into the trap of debt. The anger of the employees is not limited to salaries only. According to Arun Verma, the court had issued an order to give dearness allowance, house rent allowance and annual incentive in favor of the employees about two months ago. Despite the clear instructions of the court, the benefits of the employees are stuck for the last one and a half years. It was decided to increase the DA of employees from 23 percent to 25.7 percent, which till now is limited to papers only.

These warriors, who risked their lives to serve in adverse circumstances like the Corona period, say that this attitude of the administration is unfortunate. The employees have bluntly warned that if the salaries are not released soon and the court orders are not implemented, they will stop work and move towards a bigger movement. These employees posted on various posts are being hit: Medical Officer and Staff Nurse, ANM and Lab Technician, Data Entry Operator and ASHA Coordinator.
