Sonbhadra: Heavy jam for 20 hours on Renukoot-Bijpur route, trailer loaded with railway engine stuck.
Jagran correspondent, Sonbhadra (Renukoot). The jam on Renukoot-Bijpur road since Friday evening could not be cleared even till Saturday afternoon, due to which the traffic has been badly affected. The traffic situation is so serious that there is a queue of vehicles about 6 to 7 kilometers long.
During this time, small vehicles are somehow getting through, but big cargo trucks and heavy vehicles are completely stuck in the jam, due to which the truck drivers are facing a lot of trouble. An accident trailer has been standing on this route since Friday evening, on which the frame of a railway engine is loaded.
Due to its heavy and complex structure, this vehicle could not be removed by normal means. It is being told that the accident vehicle will be removed from the road only after the arrival of a big crane from Hindalco, but even after more than 20 hours have passed, the administration has not been able to arrange for a big crane.
Due to the accident vehicles not being removed, the scope of the jam is continuously increasing. The situation is such that many truck drivers remained stranded on the road throughout the night. They also have to struggle with basic problems like eating, drinking and defecation. At the same time, resentment is being seen among passenger vehicle drivers and local people.
In view of the seriousness of the jam, buses and some big vehicles are being diverted from Katauli turn and sent through Jharo-Manbasa route, but due to this the passengers have to cover additional distance, due to which the consumption of both time and fuel has increased.
Local people and drivers have demanded the administration to immediately order a big crane to remove the accident vehicle and provide a permanent solution to the problem of traffic jam. People say that if action is not taken soon, the jam may take a more frightening form.
At present, the administration is said to be keeping an eye on the situation, but due to lack of concrete solution on the spot, people's problems do not seem to be reducing. Due to vehicles getting stuck in the jam, not only traffic but also business activities have been affected.
