The ticket counter of Heritage Park located in Ajmal Khan Park was closed. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Now people will be able to see the heritage park built in Ajmal Khan Park of Karol Bagh under the Kabad Se Kamal project only after the construction of the children's park. Due to the crowd coming here and lack of adequate activities nearby for children to play, the corporation has decided not to add a children's park in it.
According to the corporation, along with repairing the drainage system of this park, a children's park is being constructed. It will take about six to eight months, after which it will be started.
The park was started in 2019
This park was first started in the year 2019 by Delhi Municipal Corporation through Waste to Art theme. After this, Bharat Darshan Park Punjabi Bagh, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Park Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Heritage Park were constructed.
Three parks are running in it, whereas the Heritage Park has not been started yet, whereas on March 4, 2024, this park was inaugurated by the then Union Minister of State and MP from New Delhi, Meenakshi Lekhi. The construction of this park cost Rs 4 crores.
After this, this park could not be started due to non-fixing of ticket rates. Then later when the rainy season started, it was seen that this place was situated in the lower part of the area. Due to this, during rains the water from the surrounding area also comes in this direction. In such a situation, starting the park was not considered appropriate at that time.
A park is being built in every zone
A senior MCD official said that under AMRUT 2.0, Delhi Municipal Corporation is to build a children's park. MCD is building at least one park in every zone on the lines of Nandan Van Park. It also has swings for children to play and figures and equipment for physical activities.
In which children enjoy it very much and they also get physical activity. On the same lines, a children's park is to be constructed in the heritage park built in Ajmal Khan Park. After this it will be started.
It is noteworthy that MCD has made replicas of India's historical buildings and sites included in the UNESCO list in the Heritage Park from scrap. This includes about 200 tonnes of old iron tins, bicycles and car parts. Replicas made of junk have been installed in this park on four and a half acres of land.
In this, replicas made from scrap of important places of other states including Red Fort of Delhi, Teen Darwaza of Ahmedabad, Vishnu Temple of Madhya Pradesh, Durga Temple of Karnataka, Amer Fort of Jaipur, Shanti Niketan of West Bengal, Champner of Gujarat, Agra Fort of Bihar, Mahabodhi Temple of Bihar have been installed. Similarly, 3D wheels have also been installed.
