High Court Ban On Demolition Of Buildings In Ranchi's Madhukam, Seeks Response From Administration

State Bureau, Ranchi. In the court of Justice Rajesh Shankar of Jharkhand High Court, a hearing was held on the petition filed against the action of demolishing buildings due to interference in Ranchi's Madhukam.

After the hearing, the court has stayed the action of the district administration and has directed not to take any coercive action. The court has sought reply from Hehal Circle Officer. The court has asked what decision has been taken on the reply given by the applicants when the notice was issued.

This information should be presented in the court. The next hearing in the case will be held after four weeks. In this regard, a petition has been filed on behalf of 11 people including Raunak Kumar. An intervention petition was filed on their behalf requesting a stay on the action of the district administration.

The applicants said that the land on which they are living has a settlement agreement and they have constructed the house by spending about Rs. 1.25 crores. They allege that the original petitioner has hidden these facts before the court. Advocate Gaurav Raj appeared on behalf of the interveners.

Let us tell you that Mahadev Oraon had approached the court to vacate his 48 decimal land. On this, the High Court had directed Hehal CO to vacate the concerned land in October 2024.

Recently, the district administration has issued an order to remove 12 houses built on Mundari nature land located on Kharagada Shiv Durga Mandir Road. Local residents have strongly opposed this action of the administration.

Local people say that they had paid to buy the land at the rate of Rs 5.25 lakh per katha. He has been living for years by building a house on about 38.25 decimal land. He claims that in total around Rs 1.8 crore was paid. Now action is being taken to evict them.
