Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. Monkeys and cats along with stray dogs have made life difficult for people. The monthly report of the District MMG Hospital has revealed that anti-rabies vaccine has been administered to more than five thousand people who reached the hospital after animal bites.

These include more than one thousand children. More than 50 people had to apply anti-rabies serum when they had deep wounds on their bodies. Most of the people have been bitten and injured by stray dogs. Regular ARV doses are being monitored by the authorities for rabies control.

According to the report from 31 November to 20 December 2025, anti-rabies vaccine was administered to 5593 people in District MMG Hospital alone. Of these, 2404 were given the first dose of ARV, 1635 were given the second dose, 1530 were given the third dose and 24 people were given the fourth dose of ARV.

Of these, ARV was administered to 1515 for dog bites. 667 pets and 848 people reached the hospital to get ARV after being bitten by stray dogs. 577 people got anti-rabies vaccine after being bitten by cat, 265 by monkey and 47 people got anti-rabies vaccine after being bitten by rat and other animals.

438 people came to get anti rabies vaccine in 24 hours

On Friday, 438 people came to both the hospitals to get anti-rabies vaccine due to animal bites. These include 73 children. According to the report, the maximum number of 285 people reached the district MMG hospital to get anti-rabies vaccine. Of these, 124 people, including 52 children, got the first dose of ARV.

Those who got ARVs include 40 men, 26 women and six senior citizens. A total of 153 people reached the District Joint Hospital in Sanjaynagar till 2 pm to get anti-rabies vaccine. Of these, 50 people including 21 children got the first dose of ARV.

An altercation between a doctor and a lawyer

An altercation broke out between an advocate and a doctor who had come to administer anti-rabies vaccine to a woman. The advocate called the police. The video of the dispute between the two in the presence of the police got circulated on the internet media.

It is learned that the doctor reached the emergency and sent a written police information. In the information, the advocate was accused of indecent behaviour. The advocate first complained to CMS and later lodged a complaint with the local police.

Police officials say that investigation will be done on the basis of the complaint of both. On the other hand, CMS has also given instructions to investigate the matter.

Elderly referred to MMG for ARV installation

On the instructions of the government, there is a facility to administer anti-rabies vaccine at urban primary health centers also, but on Friday, elderly Jaiveer Singh, resident of Bamheta, was referred to the district MMG hospital to get anti-rabies vaccine from the urban primary health center BLS.

The elderly man was given ARS along with ARV with the help of doctors. The old man had a deep wound in his hand.
