Jagran correspondent, Shimla. 108 and 102 ambulance employees are on strike across the state. Due to this, serious patients and pregnant women were troubled at many places. Its biggest impact was seen in remote areas. At many places, patients had to be taken to the hospital in private vehicles. The strike of the employees will end at 8 pm on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, a case of major negligence has also come to light. Ghumarwin Hospital administration of district Bilaspur has lodged a police complaint against the ambulance driver for negligence in services. Block Medical Officer Dr. Anupam Sharma said that the ambulance driver was asked to hand over the keys, but he took the keys of the car with him.

The administration made temporary arrangements

In some districts, the administration tried to run a limited number of ambulances by temporarily arranging drivers, which provided partial relief.

What is the union's claim?

The union claims that out of 293 ambulances in the state, only 13 could hit the road. These 13 trains mainly included areas of Mandi, Sirmaur and Shimla districts. State General Secretary of Employees Union, Balak Ram said that due to ignoring the legitimate demands of the employees, they had to take this step.

Employees said, they are being harassed

Alleged that labor laws and judicial orders are not being followed, minimum wages are not being paid on time and employees are being continuously harassed. He demanded the government and concerned agencies to provide concrete solutions to the problems of the employees.

1300 employees are on strike

This strike is being conducted under the banner of CITU. This includes about 1300 employees from across the state. The union said that this is a 48-hour statewide strike, which will end at 8 pm on December 27. Seeing the impact on health services, there was resentment among the general public. Patients and their relatives say that due to strike and holiday they had to wander for treatment. The administration says that emergency services have been kept operational and the situation is being monitored.
