Jagran correspondent, Bilaspur. In Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, the court has sentenced a person guilty of raping a minor to rigorous imprisonment. Raped the minor by threatening to publish her objectionable photos. On this, the court sentenced the culprit to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000. This decision has been given by the Special Court Bilaspur.
Threatened to make photo viral
Giving information about the case, District Justice Chandrashekhar Bhatia said that a minor girl of the district lodged a complaint in the Mahila Police Station on 27 February 2022. It is alleged in the complaint that recently, Maleta Srinayana Devi, resident of Kulvindra Singh, said that she has objectionable photographs of a minor, which she will circulate.
Blackmailed, called to the fields and raped
If she wants that these photos are not circulated on the internet, then she should come to the fields near her house at night. Fearing that the photos might not be broadcast, when she went to the fields, Kulvindra raped her there.
Threatened to kill parents and brother
Not only this, after raping, he threatened that if she told anyone about it or complained to the police, he would kill the minor's parents and brother along with circulating her photos. The minor gathered courage and complained to the police. After this, Police ASI Neelam investigated the case. In this, apart from the medical examination of the victim and the accused, DNA test was also done.
District Justice Chandrashekhar Bhatia argued the case on behalf of the prosecution in the case which reached the court after the police investigation, where a total of 23 witnesses were presented by the prosecution. On the basis of statements of witnesses and police investigation report, the court has sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
