As the melting increases, the wildlife is being taken out of the zoo's cell after 10 o'clock. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. As the melting increases, the routine of the zoo's wildlife has changed. The zoo workers are taking them out of the cell after 10 o'clock, but due to the cold, most of the wildlife is lying dormant in the cell. The Himalayan bear is enjoying the cold to the fullest.
He came out of the cave and was having fun the whole day and was entertaining the tourists by climbing the scaffolding. Although the cold is not affecting the rhinos and hippopotamus much, others are reluctant to come out of the cell. One enclosure of the zoo houses desi bears Nitish and Rani, while the adjacent enclosure houses Himalayan bears Veeru and Shalini. Desi bears were brought in at the March 2021 launch of the zoo, while Himalayan bears were brought in in October 2022.
According to the season, there is a clear difference in the nature of both the species. While the Indian bears are more active in the summer season, in the winter the Himalayan bears are seen coming out of the cave and dancing, climbing the scaffolding and frolicking throughout the day. Their playful activities remain the center of attraction for tourists. Due to increased cold since last two days, lions, tigers and many other wildlife are avoiding coming into the open enclosures.
The zoo administration tries to take them out, but after some time they return to their cells. Wildlife doctor Dr. Yogesh Pratap Singh said that Himalayan bears like cold weather. They face the most problems in summer. But, they do not want to live in a cave in the cold.

Due to fog, the ground becomes moist. Even the grass and straw in the enclosure remain wet. Due to which lion, tiger, leopard and other wildlife come out of the cell, but they do not want to sit. Because of this he would go to the cell again.
Depending on the season, the diet of bears changes. At present the bears are being given coconut, banana, orange, apple, papaya along with cheese and kheer. They are also being given 150 to 200 grams of honey daily for extra energy during the cold season.
