Yashasvi Jaiswal did not get a place in the T20 World Cup team
Sports Desk, New Delhi. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has proved his mettle with his bat in Tests, did not get a place in the Indian team for next year's T20 World Cup-2026. He was a backup opener in the last World Cup and this time too his name was in the race, but Ishan Kishan won. Akash Chopra, who is considered a special friend of head coach Gautam Gambhir, is very angry due to Yashasvi's name not being in the team.
Shubman Gill was not selected in the team for the T20 World Cup. Ishan Kishan has been selected as backup opener and wicketkeeper, due to which the chances of both Gill and Yashasvi were ruined. Akash has said that there was a place in Yashasvi's team.
'Yashasvi should be in the team'
Akash has said that after players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Yashasvi has a place in all three formats because he has been consistently performing well when given a chance since 2023. Yashasvi had also scored a century in T20 before the World Cup in 2024. He has shown the power of his bat in IPL also.
While talking on his YouTube channel, Akash said, "The way Yashasvi is playing, logically he should have been in the team. He was in the team in the T20 World Cup-2024. He did not get a chance to play in that tournament and the reason was clear that there was no place in the team. Before this tournament, he had also scored a century. His name is among the six Indians who have scored centuries in all three formats."

Akash said that after Yashasvi scored a century in T20, the team management saved him from the Test session and gave him rest in T20. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, who came in their place, showed such a game that they confirmed their place. Akash said, "However, after this there were many Test matches and he was not selected for T20. It was believed that Yashasvi had confirmed his place in the top order. Meanwhile, Abhishek and Sanju came and played brilliantly. Suddenly we came to know that there is no place now."
