HRTC luxury bus vandalized by tourists from Haryana at Kullu bus stand. Awakening

Communication partner, Kullu. Tourists from Haryana created a ruckus at night in the bus stand located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. A luxury bus of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) going from Manali to Chandigarh was pelted with stones and the glass was shattered. Three youths from Haryana created a ruckus. It is being told that the youths, angry at not getting seats in the bus, pelted stones at the bus and beat up the driver and conductor. Both the employees have suffered injuries in the incident. Police have taken two accused into custody in this case, while one accused has absconded.

According to the information, HRTC bus was filling diesel at Kullu bus stand. Meanwhile, three youths from Haryana came to inquire about the conductor to go to Kaithal. When the conductor informed that the bus was on Chandigarh route and there were no vacant seats, the youth got angry and started abusing.

Within no time the matter reached a scuffle. The driver who came to intervene was also beaten up and later the hooligans damaged the bus by pelting stones at it.

The victim, driver Hemraj, said that during the assault he suffered an eye injury and his clothes were also torn. The police got both the employees medically examined and registered a case against the accused.

Search for third youth

Police have started action against the accused under sections of assault and damaging public property. Two youths have been detained, while the search for the third youth is ongoing.

Bus stand in-charge Khub Ram has strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the culprits. They have also demanded night police patrolling and deployment of security guards for the safety of passengers and staff at the bus stand.
