Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. Manoj Rajak's house on the banks of the railway line on Laluchak Bhatta Road in Ishakchak police station area caught fire on Sunday due to the explosion of a gas cylinder. In this incident, the cover of the house was blown away and all the property including grains, two lakh rupees, TV, fridge was burnt to ashes.

Fortunately, there were no casualties in this accident, although one person got slight burn on his hand while trying to extinguish the fire. At the time of the incident, Manoj and his wife had gone to work, while their two children were playing outside.

Three fire engines had to be used to extinguish the fire. The fire brigade personnel had to face a lot of trouble due to the narrow path. At around 10.30 in the morning, Sanjay Rajak's daughter Nandini noticed smoke coming out of Manoj's house.

People started gathering when the girl shouted 'fire, fire'. Meanwhile, at 10:45 the first gas cylinder exploded. 20 minutes later, the second cylinder also exploded, causing a massive fire in the house.

Amidst the screams caused by the cylinder explosion, nearby people took out the cylinders from their homes. The people of the locality tried to extinguish the fire. On receiving the information, the fire brigade reached the spot and after an hour of hard work, the fire was brought under control.

Chandni Devi told that after cooking food in the morning, she had gone out to work in the houses. Her husband Manoj Rajak had also left home at 9 in the morning to do the confectioner's work. Two of their children live with their parents, while one child is in the maternal home.

Chandni told that she had saved two lakh rupees by adding every penny to build a house and had also got jewelery made for her daughter's wedding. Just two days ago he had purchased food items like rice, pulses etc. from the shopkeeper.

Everything was destroyed in the fire. The fire officer expressed apprehension that gas was leaking from the gas cylinder and someone might have thrown a burning cigarette or beedi, causing the accident.
