Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party has reached the court regarding the by-election of Ashok Vihar Ward-65 in 12 seats of MCD. The petition filed in Rohini court will now be heard on December 24.

According to AAP, the Election Commission website first showed the “AAP” candidate as winning, but later the BJP candidate was shown as winning. At the same time, BJP has called this step of AAP an insult to the mandate.

AAP state convenor Saurabh Bhardwaj said that a few days ago, AAP candidates had won in ward number 65 of Ashok Vihar in the MCD by-election.

It was also updated on the website and app of the Election Commission that “AAP” candidate has won the election from Ashok Vihar ward, but later, some unknown mistake was made there that that result was removed from the website.

Then the results were changed to show that AAP was defeated and the BJP candidate was shown as the winner. That's why AAP has challenged this election in the court.

At the same time, on AAP's petition, BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva said that the BJP candidate's victory by 405 votes being challenged in the court has once again established that AAP leaders do not have faith in the democratic mandate.

Sachdeva said that BJP considers the decision of the people supreme in democracy whereas 'AAP' sees dishonesty in every defeat. In the recently held Municipal Corporation elections, BJP lost by only 148 votes in Narayana ward and happily accepted the mandate, but 'AAP' also sees dishonesty in its defeat of 405 votes in Ashok Vihar ward and has reached the court.
