Kajal told that in the year 2018, she was married to Amit Kumar, posted in the Indian Army. After 20 days of marriage his health suddenly deteriorated. After medical examination, he was diagnosed with TB.
Since her husband's leave was over, her in-laws left her at her maternal home for treatment and promised to bring her back once she got healthy. It is alleged that when she recovered, instead of taking her back, the husband sent her a divorce notice from the court. After which the woman along with her relatives started protesting by setting up a tent outside the gate of her in-laws' house.
The victim's mother Rajkumari told that she has three daughters and a son. Elder daughter Kajal got married on 30 March 2018 to Amit Kumar, resident of Mahamadpur village of Sadhaura block. After undergoing treatment for Kajal for three and a half years, she became completely healthy. Now son-in-law Amit is not ready to accept him. Due to which we have to protest.
Had to give notice under compulsion
Amit says that Kajal got TB after marriage. He got treated in Chandigarh. After being discharged from there, he was left at his maternal home. His treatment continued. When she recovered, Kajal's relatives did not leave her here. Panchayat was also held several times. No agreement was reached in the Panchayat. Had to give divorce notice out of compulsion. The police are saying that this matter is pending in the court.
