Kite string took the life of a 5 year old girl (symbolic picture)
Digital Desk, New Delhi. A five-year-old girl died after a kite string got stuck around her neck in Hyderabad on Monday. She was sitting on a motorcycle driven by her father. This is the second such incident in Telangana.
Earlier on January 14, a 38-year-old laborer from Uttar Pradesh died after a kite string got stuck around his neck in Sangareddy district.
According to police, a man had gone to nearby Khajipalli village with his family on Monday. While returning home on the motorcycle, his younger daughter sitting in front suddenly started screaming in pain. The man immediately stopped the motorcycle and saw blood flowing from the girl's neck.
Police said that upon investigation it was found that the string of a kite was stuck around the girl's neck. Police said the parents removed the thread and immediately took their daughter to a nearby hospital, where she died during treatment.
Police said that a case has been registered at Kukatpally police station and investigation is underway. (With inputs from news agency PTI)
