On May 5, 2025, the girl had come to the village to attend her cousin sister's wedding. While she was dancing with other children, Jugendra called her to the fields on some pretext. He raped the child, then ran away.
The incident came to light when the blood soaked girl reached home to her relatives at 11 pm. Police reached the village at night and admitted the girl to the Government Medical College. His clothes were stained with mud and blood. She was in a state of disarray the whole night. She was repeating just one sentence that Baba did dirty work.
The next day, when his mental condition improved a little, the police sent him 10 km. Showed photos of elderly people living in the area. As soon as Jugendra was identified, he was arrested and sent to jail.
The police filed a charge sheet against him and the hearing started in the court soon. On Wednesday, Special Public Prosecutor Deep Kumar Gupta said that convict Jugendra has committed a serious crime.
He should be given severe punishment so that the message can be sent to the society and the rule of law can be established. The court found Jugendra guilty of POCSO and rape and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20 thousand.
Investigation in 17 days, punishment in ten months
In this incident that happened with the girl, the police registered an FIR and completed the investigation within 17 days and filed the charge sheet in the court on 22 May. After this the hearing started. Within ten months, the court completed the hearing and sentenced the culprit Jugendra.
Jugendra was living in his maternal home for 30 years.
