Completion of the metro project will also help in reducing pollution.

Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. The central government has announced the construction of three new metro corridors for Delhi, which is suffering from pollution. For this, Rs 12014.91 crore has been approved, but there are many metro projects in NCR including Delhi, which are still stuck.

These projects were announced several times and DPRs for many were made, but they have not yet come to fruition. After getting the approval of three new metro corridors, there is hope regarding such projects of NCR that work on them will start soon.

DPR was made, but metro could not be expanded between Noida-Ghaziabad.

Ghaziabad Development Authority had sent a proposal to the government for the extension of metro between Noida Sector 62 Electronic City Metro Station to Sahibabad Namo Bharat Station under the 16th Finance. DPR of this project has also been prepared, but this project has not yet taken off the ground.

After the construction of this metro corridor, lakhs of people commuting from Noida to Ghaziabad will benefit. This corridor was also to be connected to the Namo Bharat station of Sahibabad, so that people going to and from Meerut could benefit from it.

Aqua Metro extension projects under consideration near the center

The Aqua extension was planned by Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) for public transport service. A detailed project report including three metro lines was prepared and sent to the central and state governments for approval.

This includes Sector-51 to Knowledge Park Five, Sector-142 to Botanical Garden, Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki, but all three projects were sent to the Center after approval from the state government.

After approval in PIB (Public Investment Board), the Central Government has given approval to build only 2.6 km line from Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki.

In this, two metro stations Junapat and Bodaki are to be built. The remaining two projects are currently under consideration by the Central Government. The approval for the Aqua extension line from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden can be issued by the Central Government any day.

Lakhs of people will benefit from the metro corridor from Dwarka to Kherkidaula.

Lakhs of people are waiting for the announcement of developing a new corridor from Dwarka to near Khedikidaula toll plaza. Three months ago, local MP and Union Minister of State for Planning, Statistics and Program Implementation Rao Inderjit Singh has suggested to the Union Urban Development Ministry to develop a new corridor.

Their argument is that population is rapidly settling in and around the Dwarka Expressway. A new city is being developed near Cyber City. In such a situation, most of the new areas of Gurugram city will be connected to the metro.

Not only this, people up to Alwar will be able to take advantage of this corridor because a station of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor to be developed from Delhi to Alwar will also be near Khedikidaula Toll Plaza.

The stations of Metro and RRTS corridor will be connected by building an interchange. The green signal for the new corridor is awaited from the Union Urban Development Ministry. Work on the DPR will start as soon as the green signal is received.

Get relief if metro reaches Sonipat or Murthal

Under the new proposed metro line Rithala-Narela-Kundli, only two stations are to be built in the limits of Sonipat district. Stations are to be built here at Kundli and Nathupur-Sabauli. Only four kilometers of metro will come in the district.

The residents of the district demand that the Metro should be brought to Sector-7 in Murthal or Sonipat along with NH-44, so that the city residents can get the real benefit of commuting to Delhi.

Rai MLA Krishna Gehlawat had raised the demand of bringing metro to Murthal in the last assembly session. At the same time, Sonipat MLA Nikhil Madan has written a letter to Union Minister Manohar Lal demanding to bring the metro to Sector-7.

Metro work from Ballabhgarh to Palwal did not come to ground

After the metro from Badarpur to YMCA, it was extended to Raja Nahar Singh metro station of Ballabhgarh on 19 November 2018. After that, when the population of our district kept increasing, the need for expansion of the metro was also felt.

In view of this, the then Chief Minister Manohar Lal had announced the metro extension from Ballabgarh to Palwal in 2023 in the Gadpuri rally.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi put his seal of approval on the Assembly elections in 2024 by announcing it in a rally in Gadpuri. Now more than a year has passed since that announcement, but since then no work has been done on the ground on this scheme.
