On Friday, Malviya Nagar MLA Satish Upadhyay mentioned the problem of dirty water supply in his own assembly and demanded its solution. Similar situation is seen in East Delhi, areas like Mayur Vihar Phase 2 and Phase 3, Laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur, Pandav Nagar, Chilla Gaon, Yojana Vihar and Anand Vihar, Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Brahmpuri, Shastri Park, Bhagwanpur Kheda, West Angad Nagar, Ram Nagar Extension and Jagjivan Nagar are struggling with dirty water.

People are wandering for clean water

Similarly, Patel Nagar, Baljeet Nagar and Nabi Karim area of ​​Old Delhi in Central Delhi are suffering from the problem of water shortage and dirty water. There is also a problem of dirty water in areas like Saket, Okhla Phase 2, New Fred's Colony, South Extension of South Delhi. Damage to lines in some areas is a major reason, while in many areas this problem is due to sewer overflow, due to which people wander for clean water.

Raising the issue in the Delhi Assembly, Satish Upadhyay said that in some colonies of Malviya Nagar, dirty water has been coming in many colonies for the last three years. He said that due to the AAP government not working in the last 10 years, now the public is bearing the brunt of it.

He attributed this to the old age of the water pipeline and the need to replace it. Upadhyay said that the water lines are 30 to 40 years and 50 years old. Along with this, he also raised the issue of inequality in distribution of water. He said that in some colonies water is coming for one hour and in some it is not even coming, this should also be taken into consideration.
