At 11 pm on Wednesday night, near Hotel Orchid Blue on Ramghat Road, a truck filled with wheat sacks went out of control and collided with the stump of a Peepal tree on the roadside. In the accident, several sacks of wheat fell from the truck on the road, due to which the road was completely blocked for some time and a long queue of vehicles was formed.
The truck driver told that he was going to deliver wheat to a mill in Agra, but the people present on the spot said that the driver was in an intoxicated state and was not able to even tell his name and address. Seeing the sacks of wheat scattered on the road, people feared that the wheat loaded in the truck might be for ration. The government seal of Punjab is visible in a wheat sack. Police are investigating the documents related to the source and transportation of wheat.
