Jagran correspondent, Amritsar. Near the toll plaza located between Amritsar and Jandiala Guru, in the early hours of Saturday, armed miscreants surrounded a truck driver and committed robbery at gunpoint. Two youths riding a Scorpio first assaulted the truck driver and committed robbery.
According to the information received, clothes were loaded in the truck. After the fight, the robbers ran away with the bundles of clothes. According to the information, truck driver Daljit Singh was taking clothes goods from Amritsar to Ludhiana. This incident happened around 5 am on Saturday morning. At present, the police reached the spot and recorded the statement of the truck driver and registered a case against the unknown.
Police say that nearby CCTVs are being scanned so that the suspicious Scorpio car can be identified. The accused will be caught soon.

Scorpio car overtook the truck
When Daljeet Singh reached near Manawala toll plaza, a Scorpio vehicle suddenly stopped in front of his truck. Before the driver could understand anything, two youths got down from the Scorpio and forcibly took him off the truck.
It is alleged that the miscreants assaulted the driver. When Daljit Singh protested, the accused took out a pistol and a knife and threatened to kill him.

After this, the miscreants removed three bales of clothes loaded from the back of the truck, kept them in the Scorpio and fled away. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. Police have recorded the statement of the truck driver.
The footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scrutinized so that the accused can be identified. Police say that the robbers will be arrested soon.
