Police have recovered jewelery from the maternal house and arrested the woman, her brother and mother. The police presented all three in the court, from where they were sent to jail.

Shivani, wife of ration dealer Amit Kumar, son of Yogendra Singh, resident of village Mandora Jat, was alone at home on Saturday morning. Father-in-law and husband had gone out. In the morning, Shivani raised an alarm about two men and a woman entering the house disguised as beggars, stabbing them and taking away about 25 tola gold jewelery kept in the house.

Shivani told the police that the miscreants looted the gold jewelery of her and her sister-in-law Aarti. Sister-in-law Aarti's husband Sumit is a soldier in the army and is posted in Jammu. Presently Aarti is living with her children in Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh.

Yogendra had filed a case of robbery against unknown miscreants. Police investigation had revealed that the miscreants had taken only 14 tola jewelery from Aarti. Police, surveillance and SWAT team started investigating the incident and took Shivani into custody and interrogated her.

While revealing the incident in the police line auditorium on Tuesday, SP Abhishek said that Shivani, her brother Pankaj alias Golu and mother Sanjo Devi resident of Bisat police station Haldaur have been arrested.

SP told that Shivani had staged the robbery with her brother and mother to grab her sister-in-law's jewellery. She wanted to use the jewelery in her brother's wedding. On February 4, Pankaj reached Mandora Jat and broke the lock of the cupboard of Aarti's room and stole 14 tola gold and 100 grams of silver jewellery. Three days later, on Saturday, the woman created a ruckus by pretending to be robbed.

To make the incident look real, the woman stabbed herself with a knife and also injured herself by hitting her face against the wall. The police arrested Pankaj and on his information recovered the jewelery from the tube well in Bisat forest. Police have recovered items like jewellery, knife and bike used in the incident.
