Jagran correspondent, Modinagar. In Govindpuri of Kotwali area, miscreants stole two lakh rupees in cash and jewelery worth about twenty lakh rupees from a teacher's house in broad daylight. There was no one at home at the time of the incident. On reaching home the teacher came to know of the theft. The police reached the information and investigated.
The forensic team also collected necessary evidence. Police is busy searching for the accused. Pooja Sharma of Govindpuri is a teacher in a school. She left home for school on Tuesday morning. The son had also gone for duty. There was no one at home. The main gate of the house was locked.
Meanwhile, the accused entered the house and stole things from the room. The cash and jewelery kept in the safe were stolen. When Pooja reached home from school in the afternoon, all the stuff was spread here and there. The safe gate was open. Items were missing from inside. On receiving information about the theft, nearby people gathered at the spot.
Police also reached the spot on the information of dial 112. Collected necessary evidence from the spot. All CCTV footage was searched, but no clue was found about the accused. It is being told that there was a wedding ceremony in the house only a month ago. Also, after opening the lock with another key, the miscreant came inside and locked it after committing the theft.
In such a situation, there is suspicion of involvement of someone close in the incident. Pooja Sharma told that the jewelery like gold chain, bangles, rings, earrings, mangalsutra etc. are stolen. A complaint has been lodged on his behalf in the police station. ACP Modinagar Amit Saxena said that efforts are being made to trace the accused by scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed near the incident site. The incident will be exposed by arresting soon.
