A case of theft of Rs 90 thousand in cash along with one kilo of silver and 30 grams of gold jewelery by breaking the lock of a room of a house in Shalimar Bagh police station area has come to light. On the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case under relevant sections and arrested the nephew of the victim in this case.

Who committed this theft. Police have recovered 800 grams of silver jewelery at the behest of the accused. Police are conducting raids to recover the bike, other jewelery and cash. The accused has been identified as Sohi. Who was living with the victim in his own house.

The accused suffers from drug and gambling addiction and to fulfill these habits, he committed the theft. Investigation has also revealed that the accused has been involved in a criminal case in the past also.

North-Western District Police Deputy Commissioner Bhisham Singh said that on December 18, a PCR call of burglary was received at Shalimar Bagh police station. The victim Yasmeen told the police that Rs 90,000 in cash, about one kg of silver jewelery and 30 grams of gold jewelery were stolen from her house.

At the time of the incident, all the family members had gone to their native village. The police team that reached the spot found during investigation that the main lock of the house was safe, while the lock of one of the rooms inside was broken. This situation made the police suspect the role of a member of the family.

After analyzing the CCTV footage and collecting information locally, the police found that on the night of the incident, only Sohit was present in the house, who was sleeping in a separate room. During interrogation, it was revealed that he is an e-rickshaw driver and is addicted to smack as well as gambling.

Upon strict interrogation, the accused broke down and confessed to the theft. Police are also investigating the role of other accused involved in this case. The remaining jewelery and cash is also being traced.
