The elderly are having to bear the brunt of the negligence of the officials of the Social Welfare Department, Citizen Resource Information Department (CRID) and mistakes made in the family identity card. Due to departmental negligence, the Samman allowance given to 440 elderly people every month has been stopped from September 2025 by showing their age as less than 60 years.
There are some cases in which the age of the elderly is shown to be two and five years. Now, until the investigation is not completed, the pension will not reach the accounts of the elderly. The problems of the elderly have increased due to sudden stoppage of pension. They are making rounds of the Social Welfare Department.
In the district, pension is given to about 188698 beneficiaries under other schemes including elderly, widow, cancer victims, destitute and beloved social security allowance. The pension amount is sent to the beneficiaries' account. Taking cognizance of the complaints of taking fake pension, the Directorate of Social Justice Empowerment is matching the income and date of birth of the pension holders with the family identity card. The pension of those whose date of birth has been found to be different in pension papers, Aadhar card and family identity card has been stopped.

There are some people in the list sent by the Directorate, in which the age of pensioners has been shown as two, three and five years. The age of Bhupendra, resident of Old Faridabad, is shown as two years. Whereas the pension of Laxman Das, resident of Ward 11, has been stopped by showing the age of five years, Batasho, resident of Alampur, as 30 years and Oshmani, resident of Ward 1, as 31 years. The problems of the elderly have increased due to stoppage of pension. Such elders are making rounds of the department daily.
