Jagran correspondent, Sahibabad. In Kaushambi police station area, two fraudsters stole Rs 1.40 crore from the bank account of an e-commerce company. It is alleged that on the pretext of investment, the managing director of the company was called to a hotel in Kaushambi and took his mobile phone and transferred the amount. After this, the accused also took both their mobile phones with them. The incident took place on April 4 last year. On the orders of the court, the police have registered the case and started investigation.
In the case registered, Suman Kumar, Managing Director of NEX Global India Pvt. Ltd. e-Commerce Company based in Mailsandra, Karnataka, said that the company had been registered on the MSME portal for startup funds. Investment was needed to take the company forward. After this, on March 30, 2025, young men named Aman and Abhay contacted him and asked him to invest.
Both of them called him on April 4 to complete the investment process. Both of them took him near Kaushambi metro station, where the necessary documents and investment process had to be completed. The accused decided that the investment would be started from the same day and in the first instance they would transfer Rs 3 lakh to the company's bank account.
During the conversation, one of the accused took both his mobile phones saying that it was necessary to create database and profile of unknown investors of the company and confirm the bank account information. The accused took the mobile and went out of the hotel saying it was a technical problem. When he did not return till 8 o'clock in the night, the second accused left after seeing him, promising to come and since then both are absconding.
After waiting for some time, they froze the SIM and accounts. When he went home and checked the statements of the company account, Rs 1,40,37,246 had been transferred from the account to several bank accounts. It is alleged that when police did not get help after complaining, a case was filed on the orders of the court.
ACP Indirapuram Abhishek Srivastava said that CCTV footage has been extracted from the hotel. Apart from this, the accounts to which the money has been transferred from the company's account are being investigated.
