Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. In broad daylight in Karol Bagh area, miscreants surrounded a student of Galgotias University, beat him up and broke his head with a stone. The worrying thing is that during this time people remained mere spectators and no one protested against it.

The miscreants fled after looting the victim's iPhone and silver chain. The student kept pleading for help, but no one came forward to help him. At present, Karol Bagh police has registered a case and is searching for the accused.

According to the police, the victim, Sonal Kumar of Greater Noida, was returning home from Dwarka Mor on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, they went down to Karol Bagh to buy clothes. After shopping, he was going back towards the metro station when two miscreants first tried to dupe Sonal by saying that she had committed theft.

When the student did not fall into their trap, the miscreants openly chased him and forcibly took him to the roadside near the red light of Ganga Ram Hospital. When the victim tried to save his iPhone 14, the miscreants strangled him and started hitting him on the head with stones.

Bleeding Sonal kept writhing on the roadside and pleading for help, but none of the dozens of people passing by came forward to help her. Sonal's MLC revealed that she had three deep wounds on her head, which were caused by being hit by a stone. The miscreants fled away easily after looting his mobile and silver chain.

When everyone became spectators, finally two unknown persons riding on the bike stopped the bike after seeing Sonal's condition and immediately informed the police and took the injured student to a nearby hospital. Police have registered a case against unknown attackers and are scanning CCTV footage of the area to search for the accused.
